Lives and works at Cracow/Berlin
Born in 1994 in Warsaw, Poland. Studied History of Art, Film and Philosophy at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow before enrolling Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In October 2017 is set to study in Berlin at the Universitat der Kunste with prof. Hito Steyerl. She has had her works exhibited in multiple cities in Poland (Cracow, Kielce, Torun, Warsaw) and abroad - in Philadelphia and St. Louis.
Having worked as a literary translator, studied History of Art, Film and Philosophy, in my art making process I strive to relate to many fields and ideas, never fixating on one medium. For that reason, I am fascinated by new media and post-internet art, which are constantly in flux, while retaining strong intellectual background. I often mix the analog and digital realms, striving to understand our rapidly shifting perception of the world through the interweaving of old and new materials and technologies. In my photo series, "(T)here", I explore the boundaries of the photographic medium, projecting family images onto my own body, merging the artificial and the natural while dealing with the subject of memory and identity. My video, "How to meditate with nature" also touches upon the merging of body and technology, visualising a world where the virtual and the real have merged, where sensual experience and internal states are visualized by the objective representations of interface. https://zuzabanasinska.myportfolio.com/
